Song Lyric Sunday – North/South/East/West

When people talk about directions in terms of North, South, East and West, it gives me the impression that they are lost in a forest or open land with no signs of civilisation.

After all, based on various entertainment mediums, when you’re lost, as long as you go straight ahead in either one of the four directions, you’ll eventually get out. However, you never know how long it would take.

My choice for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday is “Go to the west” by nano.

I’m not entirely sure about this, but I think the one I like is actually a cover of the original which was sung by the vocaloid GUMI.

Even if we are not physically lost, we might be unsure of our ways of life. In a sense, we are at a loss of where to go. I don’t know about you guys, but I often feel very lost. While everyone around me is doing something they feel they should be doing or need to be doing, I’m just at a standstill.

It feels like even as time passes, the path ahead of me is never ending. It feels like all I can do is vent my frustrations of my own weaknesses.

Even if no one responds to my cries, perhaps as they resound within me, I will eventually find the answer I seek.

My thoughts are always fleeting. Writing is the only way I can remember all the things that once crossed my mind.

  1. Always interesting to see your song choices as they are far outside my spectrum- but then they would be I am nearly 60. I was thrilled with the rock feel of this one and the fact that it was sung in English so I could hear the interpretive quality of the singers voice in the words.Thank you.

  2. Nice sound to it. I tried to listen to the original, vocaloid version but couldn’t figure out where the video/soundtrack was? I didn’t realize vocaloids were such a big thing until I saw that site!

      1. Haha no problem 🙂
For me, I find that I usually like the lyrics of vocaloid songs so I ended up getting hooked on it at some point. I haven’t really listened to vocaloid in quite some time now though. However, there are a lot of people who do covers for vocaloid songs on top of their original songs like mafumafu and soraru
