I believe the song title can roughly be translated to “Such a Disturbance”.
Honestly, the English translation available doesn’t seem to be the best and I can’t really confidently say I know what the artist is trying to convey.
However, I will just share my thoughts as always.
The song describes a “stagnant” town lacking in spirit where all you hear are “stagnant” greetings that seem so trivial and meaningless that it’s nothing but noise. Before the circuit breaker (quarantine equivalent), whenever I went out I just drowned out the noises of those around me. After all, they didn’t matter to me and were just the chattering of people trying to forget about work or people complaining about work.
Everyone is just going about their daily lives as they are used to the society we live in. Work hard and progress through life. That’s it.
There are no choices to be made, we just go with the flow.
With people we know all around us, we don’t want to get unwanted attention, we don’t want to be hated. We try to conform to those around us but at the same time we don’t want to lose who we are. Our hometown is full of people trying to shape us into what they feel is the best version of ourselves. Thus, we don’t want to disappoint them.
However, we still want to live true to ourselves.
How can we achieve both at the same time?
Or perhaps, should we speak up to those who we’ve known for a long time and try to gain freedom to meet new people and forge a path for ourselves?
Whatever it is, we need to be determined to face forward no matter the results.
